Surrounded by her family, Evangelia passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017 in her 89th year. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Pantelis (Peter) and her precious son, George. Cherished Mother and best friend to Fannie (Steve) Sotiroff of Toronto and Athena Horton of Hamilton. Dear and loving Baba to Troy (Stacey) Sotiroff, Bruce Sotiroff, Wendy (Hui) Ouzas, Alethea (Frank) Ouzas, Anastasia (Matt) Horton and Alexandra (Jacob) Horton and Great-Baba to Steven, Daniel and Jason Sotiroff and Kendrick Thai. She is survived by her brother and cousins in Melbourne, Australia and nieces and nephews in Canada. Evangelia was elegant and gracious, had a wonderful sense of humour and was always quick to smile and laugh. She was known for her home-made bread, phylo pastry, beautiful crocheting and embroidery. Evangelia was a loving, kind and sweet Mother and Baba, she was our everything.
The family would like to thank Dr. Potter and the staff at Extendicare Hamilton for their exceptional care of our Mother.
Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Rd. East, Hamilton (905)574-0405 on Friday, December 29 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with prayers held at 3 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 233 East 15th St. Hamilton at 9:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington.
