Lloyd Ernest Glidden
1943-2017
Lloyd Ernest Glidden of Riverview, passed away peacefully
with his loving wife at his side at The Moncton Hospital on Friday,
December 22, 2017. Born in Campbellton, NB; he was the son of the late
Harvey and Betty (Lucas) Glidden.
Lloyd was retired from The Toronto Transit
Commission after 31 years working as a Signal Maintainer
rising to Supervisor of Signals & General Superintendent. He
also served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1961 – 1965,
having served in Cyprus during Peace Keeping. Lloyd had a
love for hockey, playing in rec leagues right until last year and an
avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Besides his love of hockey, he was avid
model railroader. His life will leave a void in the lives who love him
for all that he represented as a good man.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 50 years,
Laura Rose (Dicks), sisters, Anne (Larry MacLeod), Margaret (Margie)
(Gille Dube), Catherine Glidden, brother, Michael, along with
Brothers-in-laws Samuel (Alva), Allan (Marjorie) Wilfred (Jean) and
Sisters-in-law Audrey (Terry) Linda (Henry) well as several nieces and
nephews.
Lloyd’s last wished would be for his friends and
family that he loved is to do something together in memory of his life
with joy, love and laughter.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb’s
Funeral Home & Cremation Center,330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview,
NB (869-2007). A service celebrating his life with take place later in
the spring. Donations made to the Riverview Boys and Girls Club would
be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be
