Obituary of Ralph Smith
SMITH – Ralph Leland, age 85, of Falmouth, formerly of Bramber, passed away on October 13, 2017 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, with his family by his side. Born in Bramber on September 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Elmer Angus and Edna Lillian (Lake) Smith. Ralph worked as a welder in Halifax until he retired to work his farm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ralph enjoyed fishing, and was a hunting enthusiast who loved going to the camp with son Mike. Ralph is survived by his children, Donna (Neil) McLellan, Windsor; Michael (Mabel) Smith, Poplar Grove; and Connie (Hector) Boudreau, Halifax; grandchildren, Sarah (Jordan) Allen, Mitchell McLellan, Kari (John) Hunt, Katrina (Lyle) McGillivray, and Andrea (Jason) Meade; great-grandchildren, Jada and Gage Meade and Eden McGillivray; sister Judy (Allison) Atwell, Falmouth; brother-in-law Rod Card, Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Janet (Mitchell); brother, Donnie; and sister, Una Card. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to Parkinson Canada, 150 – 7071 Bayers Rd.
