Mrs. Vera Robertson
At Riverview Gardens surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday September 20th, 2017, Mrs. Vera Robertson of Chatham in her 92nd year after a brave and valiant struggle with Parkinson’s disease for over 30 years. Cherished daughter of the late Reginald and Alice McEachran. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Doc” Robertson. Loving mother of Susan Brooks (the late Ron) of Chatham, Gary Robertson (the late Della Robertson) and Pam Hill of Chatham, and LuAnn Snyder and her husband Graham of Waterloo, and Kevin Robertson and his wife Lana of Chatham. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Scott Brooks (Karen), Keri Brooks-Bird (Roger), Paul Robertson (Kim), Kelly Robertson, Jeremy “Jake” Snyder (Dawn), and Erika Snyder (Christopher Quipp), and great grandchildren Kylie, Cody, Ben, Brady, Reed, Drew, and Rory. Dear sister of Marjorie (Jack), and Marilyn (Doug) and survived by her sisters-in-law Bernice and Marion. Predeceased by her siblings Freddie, Lorraine, Betty, Wayne, Lloyd, Buck and June, son-in-law Ron Brooks, daughter-in-law Della Robertson, and grandson Dan Snyder. Vera was an avid golfer and gardener. Vera had a deep, abiding, and unending love for her family and she will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff of 2nd Floor East at Riverview Gardens for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. W. Chatham, 519-352-2710, on September 24th visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday September 25th at 1:00 p.m. with Gabriella Cutler officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or a charity of their choice.
