Clayton Lloyd Stoughton of Gilbert Plains passed away on September 4, 2017 at the age of 93.
Clayton was born on September 8, 1923 in Gilbert Plains. He was the second son of Alick and Laura Stoughton and is survived by daughters Gail (Jack) Topham of Grandview and Barbara (Ron) Kadyschuk of Saskatoon; grandchildren Kent (Leanne) Topham of Grandview, Gary (Corinne) Topham of Minnedosa, Royden Kadyschuk (Kate Stanley) of Toronto, and Leanne Kadyschuk (Casey Murray) of Saskatoon; great grandchildren Kendra and Taron Topham of Grandview, Linnae,, Rayna and Cole Topham of Minnedosa, and Oliviya Forrest (Kadyschuk) of Saskatoon; brothers Larry (Tanya) Stoughton of Vancouver and Bill (Sonya) Stoughton of Winnipeg. Clayton was predeceased by his wife Doreen and brothers Mel (Florence), Avery (Audrey) and Don (Phyllis).
Clayton spent his entire life farming in Gilbert Plains. He was a proud John Deere man, especially his combine. He was a man of many talents. Clayton was a fix-it himself mechanic and could build any kind of building – homes, cabins, barns. He and a neighbor had an arch rib rafter business for many years. He always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. Doreen and Clayton were faithful members of the Full Gospel Church in Gilbert Plains for their entire adult lives. In the winter they enjoyed going south to Mesa, Arizona. Clayton visited everyone in the park, played bocce ball, and was an excellent pool player. Many hours were spent in ‘the office’ (the pool hall). Numerous friends from Mesa came to visit him in Gilbert Plains. After selling his home Clayton moved into Sunset Lodge and enjoyed all the goodies and visiting there. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Grandview Hospital for all the special care Clayton received from them.

The family will host a graveside service for Clayton on October 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Chatsworth Cemetery in Gilbert Plains, MB.
