Obituary of Kenneth Hotston
Hotston, Kenneth “Ken” James (WWII Veteran) – Passed away peacefully at his home, Princess Gardens, on Friday September 8, 2017. Ken was the beloved husband for 63 years of the late Hope Hotston (nee. Zawadski), of Peterborough, in her 87th year; Dear father of Robert (Karen) Hotston of Peterborough, Lynda (Bob) Berry of Stirling, and Douglas Hotston of Orleans; Grandfather of Morgan Hotston of Toronto. Ken will be missed by his sister in law Anne Parry of Kingston as well as cousin and best friend Jim Hotston of Cobourg. Ken was loved and will be remembered by many other friends and relatives. Ken was a Peterborough Graduate of P.C.V.S. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy joining in Kingston, from 1942-1945. He was a proud member of the Peterborough Naval Association, and active member of All Saints Anglican Church for many years. Ken retired from Canada Post as a Postal Officer in Peterborough in 1979 after 32 years of devoted service. He was also a drummer for various bands since 1947. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saint’s Anglican Church at 12:00 p.m., 235 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, with visitation one hour prior. A Reception will follow at Ashburnham Funeral Home 840 Armour Road, Peterborough. Private family interment at Norwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.
