1936-2017
Patrick Owen McWade, 81, of Charlottetown, PEI, passed away
peacefully at the Palliative Care Centre on Sunday July 30,
2017.
Patrick is survived by his loving partner Donna McIver, his
two daughters, Jennifer (granddaughters Sarah, Christine) and Laura
(Jennifer) sisters Mary and Mickey(Ernie), and brother Bert
(Patti).
Pat was predeceased by his wife Mary Lynn (nee Forcey),
brothers Gordon, Frederick, Terrance, and sisters Claire and
Ruth.
Patrick was born in Victoria, BC on July 4, 1936. He
graduated from Saint Dunstan’s University under the UNTD
Naval program, and served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Sub
Lieutenant. He ended his working career with Sears Canada, and retired
to Nova Scotia and then to Prince Edward Island.
He was a mentor and speaker for many years in the AA
program.
Patrick loved the hours he spent at the Charlottetown
racetrack as a horse owner and race fan. He will be sadly missed by
his many horsemen friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday August 1, 2017
at the Hennessey-Cutcliffe-Charlottetown Funeral Home at 35 Longworth
Avenue, Charlottetown. Private burial will take place at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memoriam contribution
to the PEI Provincial Palliative Care Centre, where Patrick received
outstanding care. For those who wish memorial contributions may be
sent directly to the Provincial Palliative Centre, 93 Murchison Lane,
Charlottetown, PEI C1A 7N8, 902-368-4781.
