Ivan Eastman Steeves
Ivan Eastman Steeves, 93, of McNair Manor and formerly of
Autumn Terrace and King St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Monday, July 17, 2017.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Austin and Susan
(Colpitts) Steeves and the husband of the late Anne (McDonald)
Steeves.
Ivan was a retired Special Agent with CN Police, a member of
Highfield Baptist Church and member and Past Master of Acacia Lodge
#49, F. & A.M. Moncton.
A hard worker, Ivan had a « never give up »
attitude in every aspect of his life. He saw problems or situations
through to the end. Ivan was also always willing to lend a helping
hand to anyone in need.
Among other things, he particularly enjoyed hunting and
fishing, especially on the Little Sou’west Miramichi River
and trips to his beloved Albert County, especially Rosevale.
Ivan will be sadly missed by his children, Joy Jardine (Guy)
of Miramichi, Judith MacPherson (Terry) of Ottawa, ON and Grand
Barachois, NB, Vaughn Steeves (Patti) of Bedford, NS, Rick Steeves
(Sandy) of Barrie, ON and June Lundie (Kevin) of Lacombe, AB; ten
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Steeves
(Walter) of Saint John and several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased
by son, Dale (1994); sisters, Susan (Susie) O’Brien and
Shirley Freeman; brothers, Lloyd and Allen Steeves.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Acacia Lodge #49, F. & A.M. Masonic service on Thursday at
6:45 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Ivan’s life will
be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 21, 2017 at
11:00 am, with Rev. Dr. Robert Knowles officiating. Reception in the
Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be
in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

& Colitis Foundation or a memorial of the donor’s
