John « Johnny » Lars Johnson
1935-2017
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family
of John Lars Johnson announces his passing, which occurred at St.
Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the age of
81. Born in Saint John on September 28, 1935, he was a son of the late
John Lars Sr. and Marie Frances (Carlgren) Johnson.
Johnny worked at the dry dock for many years and also served
the city of Saint John as a firefighter for 18 years. He enjoyed
family gatherings at his sister’s house in east Saint
John.
He will be missed by his son, William « Billy »;
sister, Marie Ferguson (the late Delphis); and his beloved companion,
Doreen McKee. In addition to his parents, Johnny was predeceased by
his wife Delma (Merritt) a son, David; an infant daughter, Carol
Marie; and a brother, Robert.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with
visitation on Tuesday from 3-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on
Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral
Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those
who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or any
charity of the donor’s choice.
