It is with immense sadness we announce that Mary Michel (née Pejnovich), of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away at 6am in the arms of her loving daughter on Tuesday June 27th, 2017 at the age of 86.
Mary was born to parents Danica and Mike Pejnovich on November 22, 1930 in Beauharnois, Quebec. She grew up in Montreal as the eldest of 4. Mary married Brian Michel September 6th, 1958 and they raised one child of which she devoted her entire life towards. A Household Engineer by vocation and Baker-Extraordinaire of the most scrumptious treats and sweets we’ve ever eaten. She also had a knack for assorting, documenting, filing and recalling every event, photo, or item ever purchased! Mary (a.k.a. Twinkle-Toes) loved to dance and would when she could, but her passions revolved around her family, and thus she accompanied them to Edmonton in January of 2005.
Mary is survived by her beloved daughter, Danica Michel-Hauffe; her son in law, George Hauffe; three grandchildren, Krista, Ryan and Gary; her sister, Anne; brother in-law, Ron Peppy; nieces & nephews, and not to forget, her Fur-Babies Buddy, Purr and especially Maddy.
Mary is preceded in death by her daughter Charmaine, her loving parents, her beloved husband, sister Emily, sister in-law Terri and just recently, her little brother Joey.
Cremation has taken place and the family will advise accordingly with regards to any Memorial services scheduled.
The family is grateful for all your humble condolences. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Mary’s name to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or The Alberta Cancer Foundation.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff of Leduc General Hospital for the wonderful care, concern and mindfulness shown towards Mary and the family during the final days of her life.
