Joseph « John » Arsenault
Joseph
« John » Arsenault, 77, of Moncton, passed away at the
Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
Born in
Summerside, PEI, he was the son of the late Theodore and Marianne
(Poirier) Arsenault.
John retired
from the R.C.A.F as Sergeant with 25 years’ service; he was
a civilian employee at the Moncton Base #5 Supply Depot, former
bartender at The Moncton Press Club and worked at Kent Building
Supplies before fully retiring in 2004.
John
enjoyed brewing his own beer, doing crossword puzzles and he loved
sports, especially baseball and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays
fan.
John will be
sadly missed by his wife, Bernadette (Cormier) Arsenault of Moncton;
daughter, Monique LeBlanc (Michael) of Riverview; son, Ron Arsenault
(Diane Gagnon) of Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Jeff LeBlanc,
Emily Arsenault, Sean and Kathryn Perry; sisters, Annette Landry
(Marcel), Rena Lyon and Theresa Beaubien.
In
addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his daughter,
Michelle Arsenault; sister, Tina LeBlanc; brothers, Verno, Raymond and
Elry Arsenault.
Visitation
will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road (Moncton),
on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Friday from 12:30 pm till the
time of the service. A Veteran tribute service will
be held on Thursday at 6:45 pm.
A
service to celebrate and honour John’s life will be held at
Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm with
Rev. Jean-Guy Dallaire presiding.
Reception to be held in the Funeral Home Reception
Centre following the service.
If so
desired, donations in John’s memory can be made to The
Friends of the Moncton Hospital or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke
