Herman « Bud » MacDonald
Herman « Bud » MacDonald, 91, of the Veterans Health
Centre, and formerly of Dieppe, passed away peacefully in his sleep on
Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Born in Plaster Rock, he was the son of the
late Thomas and Mary (Ward) MacDonald.
Bud was a retired Machinist with New Brunswick International
Paper Company (NBIP) with 40 years’ service. A Veteran of
WWII, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy aboard HMS Howe.
Bud was a member of Campellton Lodge #32, F. & A.M., Sunny
Brae Royal Canadian Legion Branch #54 and Visions United
Church.
Bud will be sadly missed by his daughters, Sherrill Lee
MacDonald, Rev. Muriel Gayle MacDonald and Mary Susan MacDonald, all
of Dieppe; grandsons, Roderick William MacDonald Cardiff (Kristy) and
Roger Eliot Cardiff (Bren), both of Toronto, ON and Jason M. Pelletier
of Ottawa, ON; great granddaughter, Brooklyn Cardiff and two great
grandsons, Mason and Finn Cardiff; brother, Harold MacDonald of
Dartmouth, NS, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family
members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Marguerite Ellen Joyce (Gilmour) (August 1997); son, Roderick
MacDonald and several brothers and sisters.
In keeping with Bud’s wishes, there will be no
visitation hours. A Masonic Service will be held on Friday, April 7,
2015 at 1:15 pm at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995), followed immediately by Sunny Brae Legion Branch
#54 Memorial Service.
A Service to celebrate and honor Bud’s life will be
held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Fergusons Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jim MacDonald officiating. Reception in the
Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be
in Campbellton Rural Cemetery later in the spring.
