It is with sadness that we announce the death of Kermit Clyde Lewis. He passed away at the age of 87, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home surrounded by his family. Kermit was born November 28, 1929 in Monteagle, N-B to Ralph and Nellie Elizabeth (Lewis) Lewis. He was the third of nine children and the last surviving member of his family.
He is survived by his estranged wife, Betty, loving daughter Rebecca and sons Royce, Troy and Theodore; also by his step grand-children: Corrine and Sascha; one great grandson, Bentley, as well as sister-in-law Kay (Grant) Lewis in Milton Ont.
He was predeceased by all his siblings: Ronald, Annie, Omar, Clayton, Helen, Grant, Peter and a baby brother at a young age.
Kermit was a farmer and also worked for the Department of Transportation. He always loved his horses and cows and was happy spending many hours in the barn. He always looked forward to the various agricultural fairs held each year and going to them. He was also a member of the Second North River Baptist Church.
Kermit was not one for fanfare and ceremony, and at his request there will not be any visitation. A Funeral Service presided by Rev. David Woodworth will be held at the Fair Haven Funeral Home’s chapel (1177 Salisbury road, Moncton, N-B) on Monday, March 13th at 10am followed by a reception. Interment at Fair Haven Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moncton SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
