Dorothy D. Hawkes
1932-2017
Dorothy Doreen Hawkes of Bannon passed away on Sunday, February 26,
2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. She was born
April 7, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Elijah and Edna
Hathaway. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Cecil Hawkes; daughter, Sheila Thomas; granddaughter, June Nicholson;
great grandson, Benjamin Thompson; brothers, James Hathaway and
Charles Hathaway.
Dorothy is survived by her six children, Robert (Shirley) Hawkes of
Bannon, Garfield (Martha) Hawkes of Back Bay, Larry (Ernestine) Hawkes
of Millville, James (Lucy) Hawkes of Pole Hill, Linda (Ricky) Mean of
Windsor, Albert (Mona) Hawkes of Bannon; nineteen grandchildren, Wanda
Carten, Brenda (Donnie) Smith, Melissa Hawkes, Shelly (Mark) McNally,
Dwight Hawkes, Cassandra Hawkes, Samantha (Jarred) Henderson, Danica
(Kirk) Peterson, Shane (Jessica) Brewer, Honey-Lee (Hugo) Leslie,
Chance Leslie, Jeremy (Joni) Mean, Crystal (Keith) Shillan, Alex
(Danielle) Mean, Rachel (Jason) Thompson, Rebecca (Sean) Morrisey,
Rose Mean, Shawna (Anthony) Hanscombe, Larry (Kendra) Hawkes;
forty-six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister,
Irma (Weldon) Parsons; brothers, Henry (Ann) Hathaway, Paul (Sheila)
Hathaway, Lewis Hathaway; sister-in-law, Charlene Hathaway; nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street
Hartland on Tuesday, February 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral
service will be on Wednesday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m from the Lorne
Britton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Marc Doiron officiating. Interment
will be in the Lower Windsor Cemetery at a later date. If so desired,
