Our brother has gone home to be with The Lord Jesus on Saturday February 18, 2017.
The oldest of 10 children Mike worked alongside his father Nick for many years in the family real estate business until Nick passed away in 1969. Mike continued on working in real estate with his mother for many more years.
Growing up in a family of 7 girls and 3 boys and being the eldest Mike was frequently called upon by our father to help do some of the chores like stacking wood slabs with younger brother John in the basement of our old house on Birch North or painting the cottage at Star Lake. But the one that sticks with me is the one Mike loved to remind me of. He would say, »you know when you and your twin sister Noreen would cry in the night Dad would tell me to go rock the twins because your mother is tired » So Mike would lay down on the old hard wood floor between the two cradles, we each had one and with one arm on each cradle Mike laid there on the floor rocking us till we fell asleep. And now our brother has gone to his final rest, gone ahead of us to be with his Dad, Mom and youngest sister Jane. We will miss your light hearted way of looking at life, your family Brothers Nick , John , Sisters : Elizabeth , Mary , Violet , Sylvia , Margaret , Noreen. We send our thanks to Dr. George and to the kind and thoughtful staff at the Rosedale in Matheson as well as the care giving staff at the Matheson Hospital where Mike received urgent care from time to time. Funeral service will be held on Thursday February 23, 2017 at 11 am at St-Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friend on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME.
