Scott Gerrard Hurd, Gryte, Rafnson
Surrounded by his loving family, Scott went to be with his Lord and Saviour, on January 22nd, 2017. He leaves behind his family, wife of 59 years Thelma, children Robin (Don), Rory (Aynsley), Randy (Susanne), and Ronalee (David); 11 grandchildren Allan, Kevin, Joel (Jenna), Amber (Evan), Emily, Erik, Mary, Kristi (Morgan), Sarah (Tyler), Zachary, and Caitlyn; 4 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Leira, Jase and Jack; brother Landis; sisters June, Myrna, Sharon, Dallas, Charlotte, and Nancy.
Scott loved his early years working as a lineman with C.P. Rail, and then retiring after 41 years at Burns Foods. Scott loved sports; playing, watching and coaching. He was active in curling, bowling, baseball, hunting, fishing, and golf to name a few. Upon retiring they spent their winters in Florida making new friends, playing bridge and golfing. After selling their home, tried out apartments and finding their forever location at Concordia Village where they met many new friends and enjoyed all the various activities there. Above all else Scott was a family man through and through. His love for his family and friends showed no boundaries. Scott, Dad, Papa you will be forever loved and missed by all.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday January 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Concordia Village Centre 1115 Molson Street, with Pastor Hermann Dueck officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
