Terry Angantyr Arnason died Monday, January 9 in Gimli Health Centre at
the age of 85 with his wife Bonnie Arnason at his side. Predeceased by
his first wife Patricia Arnason, his sister Arlene Arnason and his
youngest daughter Melanie Arnason. Much loved father of Carolyn Arnason
(Boyd McDonald) and Deborah Judith (Ervin Bartha). Cherished grandfather
to Sean Taubner, Meagan Ruvolo, Heart Friend Infinity and Harmony Light
and great-grandfather to Bethany and Jeremy Ruvolo. Terry was stepfather
and grandfather to Bonnie’s four grown children and their children,
Karen and Dan Soper and their three sons, Skyler, Austin, and Sean,
Joanna and Thomas Lissaman and their two daughters Bronwyn and Tegan,
Matthew and Joanne Bancroft, and their four children, Olivia, Julia,
Benjamin, and Emma, and Christine and Tyger Lauw and their two children,
Naomi, and Declan. Terry was loved by all of Bonnie’s family, and will
be greatly missed.
Terry worked in private practice as a Chartered Accountant in Winnipeg,
established a successful temporary help agency (WorkPool Associates) and
was a financial advisor for Investors Group. Terry loved learning and in
later life he completed his BA at the University of Winnipeg and MBA at
the University of Manitoba. He was a long-time, active member of the
Lions Club. Terry performed in the chorus of Manitoba Opera productions
and his beautiful baritone singing voice will be remembered forever.
Terry’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Gilbart Funeral
Home on 50 1st Avenue in Gimli Saturday, January 14th. Guests are
welcome any time after 2:00 pm and the Memorial Service will begin at
3:00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Gimli Humane Society in
Terry’s honour would be appreciated. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial
Gardens in Winnipeg will take place at a later date.
