Obituary
Our much loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on November 20, 2016 after battling several illnesses.
Blanche had many fond memories, growing up on a farm in Coulter, Manitoba. She met and married Lawrence Miller McKnight on September 10, 1956 after meeting at Calgary’s Penley’s Dancing Academy. This year, they celebrated 61 years of marriage as each other’s best friend. Blanche was a caregiver in her nursing assistant career and all aspects of life, especially to her family, choosing to put others needs first.
Blanche is greatly missed by her husband, Lawrence; daughters Brenda (John) Peters, Carol Benoit, Jayne Leblanc (Helmut), Jean (Ross) Hodgins; son, Calvin McKnight (Michael Vowles); eight grandchildren: Michael (Jill) Peters and great grandson Emerson; Jennifer (Dustin) McKenna; Vanessa (Tom) Kenney; Dale (Lindsay) Peters and great granddaughter Faith; Danielle Leblanc; Liam Hodgins; Lauren Peters; and Shelby Hodgins.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Karen Lee; her parents and siblings.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Blanche’s life will take place in Edmonton on September 2, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Blanche’s favorite charity, The Hope Mission in Edmonton.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Blanche McKnight.source
