Age 80 passed away October 23, 2016 at QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Halifax, he was the eldest son of the late John “Tom” and Vera (Husbands) Jackson.
Upon leaving high school, Len joined the Federal Public Service of Canada and retired from Maritime Intelligence in 1992 after 38 years of service. Len was a long time Toronto Maple Leafs fan and an avid bid whist player. At the time of his death, Len was Past Master of Equity Lodge 106, Past High Priest of Royal Union #1, Past Worthy Patron of Order of the Eastern Star, Armcrest #45, member of Shriner’s Philae Temple, and associate member of Army, Navy, Air Force, Unit 373.
Len will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; sons, Wayne (Carolyn O’Malley), Dartmouth; Rick (Bernadine Jacobs), Ottawa; Bruce; daughters, Val, Sydney; Andrea (Brian) Helpert and Marcia (James Zinck) Rice, both of Dartmouth; sister, Shirley Richards, Winnipeg; brother, Cecil, Halifax; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Joan and Sylvia.
Cremation has taken place. No services by request.
