William Bill Tordon 15 février 1921 – 22 octobre 2016

Tordon, William “Bill”-95 of Halifax, passed away on October 22, 2016 in Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII Hospital.
Born in Preeceville, Sask., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tordon. His family moved to Endeavour, Sask. in June 1930. After graduating from school, he was recruited in 1941 by the military Postal Corps and was posted to Ottawa, Ont. It was there that he met his beloved wife Dee.
During his years in the military, he was posted to Churchill, Man; Rivers, Manitoba; Korea, Germany and France, returning to Ottawa, and finally settling in Halifax. He retired from the Army in November of 1973.
For his second career, he was employed with the post office in Halifax until his retirement in February 1986.
In his spare time, Bill loved cards, curling, gardening and soaking up the sun. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and most of all, his grandsons.
Bill is survived by his sons, Robert (Sandi), Rick (Christine); grandsons, Paul and Zach. Bill was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Druscilla “Dee” (Doyle).
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2pm on Wednesday October 26, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, with the funeral service immediately following at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow in the Oceanview Reception Room.
Cremation and Interment in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Halifax to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Camp Hill Hospital and Veteran’s Affairs.
