Nellie Marie Harris (nee Cousens)
Nellie Marie Harris, 83, of Berry Mills, passed away
peacefully in the comfort of her home on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
Born in Juniper Stump, NL, she was the daughter of the late Bridgette
(Fowler) and Arthur Cousens.
Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved tending her lawn, large
vegetable garden and flowers and spending time with her many
grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Nellie will be sadly missed by her children, Bill Harris
(Carolyn) of Upper Coverdale, Darrell Harris of Berry Mills /
Miramichi, Sharon Harris (Myra) and Scott Harris (Gail), both of
Moncton; daughter-in-law, Heather of Riverview; several grandchildren
and great grandchildren; sister, Nita Noseworthy (late Jim) and
brother, Levi Cousens; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Gordon Harris (2011); sons, Ronald, Donald and Brian;
sisters, Marg Banfield, Doris Coveyduck, Ella Lynn Cousens and Lavita
Mugford; brother, Willie Cousens.
The family would like to express a sincere and heartfelt
thank you to everyone who took care of Mom during her illness.
Specifically, The Moncton Hospital Oncology Unit’s Chemo
Team, the Extra Mural Program Nurses and her two homecare workers. In
addition, Mom would be sure to say that she had two angels at her
side, Sharon and Myra, over the many long nights during the past year
and that she loved them dearly.
In honoring Nellie’s wishes, there will be no
visitation hours or formal funeral service. A private family interment
service will take place at Steeves Mountain Cemetery.
