Obituary
Rick passed away peacefully after a long illness. He is survived by his partner, Ollie Triska; brothers, Dan and Ian (Kathy Bolan); sister Kerry Raitt; daughter, Jennifer Bird (Chris) and nephew Brian McCosh (Shawna). He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Aldi and brother, Barry.
Rick was born in Winnipeg Manitoba and the family moved to Whitehorse YT (1964) and then Penticton (1964), settling in Naramata. In 1973, Rick graduated in geological engineering (UBC), working for BC Hydro and Techman consultants in Calgary. Subsequently he had his own consulting company and a number of other business interests. In 2008, he moved to Edmonton where he lived up until his death. Rick had a very spiritual nature, constantly searching for answers to questions about life, god, and happiness.
Rick was committed to cremation on September 22, 2016. A celebration of his life will take place at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton AB, at 2:00 p.m. on October 8, 2016.
