Irene Christine Trites
Irene C. Trites, 91, of Stilesville, passed away peacefully
at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, September 30, 2016. Born in Lutes
Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Whitfield and Corena
(Briggs) Trites.
Irene was an RNA at The Moncton Hospital with over 15
years’ service. She was a member of Stilesville United
Church (now Visions United) and enjoyed knitting and quilting. Irene
and Lovell carried on the Trites Sugar Bush, in which their children
are still carrying on the sugar bush legacy today. She enjoyed
spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Irene had a very extended family, many of whom she
thought of as her own.
Irene will be sadly missed by her sons, Darrell (Joy) of
Stilesville, Lindsay of Indian Mountain and Dexter (Juliette) of
Moncton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
extended family members. She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Lovell Trites; daughter, Debra; son, Brent; sister,
Arletta Edgar; brothers, Marshall, Neil and Curtis Trites.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to
celebrate and honor Irene’s life will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1:30 pm, with Rev.
Shawn Redden officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception
Centre following the service. Interment will be held in Stilesville
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of The Moncton
Hospital or the Stilesville Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the
