Hamill, Brian Robert
(1951 – 2016)
Passed peacefully into God’s arms on Friday, September 9, 2016. He is together again with his beloved wife Christine ‘Missie’ [Always You And Me Kid] (2013). Father of Matthew (1986) and Laura, grandfather of Nicholas. Proud son of Robert (1989) and Lillian (1990) Hamill of Guelph. Equally proud son-in-law of Gerald and Margaret Dowden of Brantford. Loving godfather of Meghan Lynch (Tyson Ibele) and ‘uncle’ to Greg Lynch (Chelsea).
Brian worked for many years in Sales and Marketing at Bell Canada. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, he was co-founder of “Doug’s Thugs” a fraternal brother/sister hood. “They are out there; familiar as my own bones”. This over 40 year association afforded Brian, an only-child; the extended family and life-long friendships which were the underpinning of his life.
Thanks to ParaMed (particularly Sue) and all the nurses and doctors in the Hemodialysis Unit of Grand River Hospital for their professionalism and tireless care.
Brian’s “Family” will greet well-wishers at the Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467) on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 2:30-3:15 p.m. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, immediately following the visitation, at 3:30 p.m. The proceedings will be led by Brian’s ‘brother’, Patrick Lynch and officiated by Reverends Linda and Brooke Ashfield of Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
