At The Pembroke Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side on Saturday September 24, 2016 at the age of 85 years. LaVerne McGovern (nee Friedel) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Dr. Murray McGovern. Loved and cherished mother of Patricia Balis (Eduard) , Terese Ferri (Dr. Michael), Murray McGovern, Fred McGovern (Susan), Joette Waddell (Sandy), Cecile Stares (late John), Myles McGovern (Catherine), Louise Hughes, Celeste Cowley (Jeff), Anastasia Bowles (Steve), Damian McGovern (Catherine), Tom McGovern (Deborah) and the late Joseph McGovern and infants Peter and Mark McGovern. Loving grandmother of 61 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Frank, Theresa, Donna, Tom, Noreen, Lois, Mary, Toni and predeceased by sister Dory and brothers George and Joseph. Sister-in-law of Ken (Marcie) and the late Fred and Jeannette. Friends are invited to share their memories of LaVerne with her family during visitation at the home of her daughter at 185 Golf Course Road, Pembroke on Tuesday from 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning September 28 at 11:00 o’clock, in St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke. Interment Thursday September 29 in Humphrey Rosseau Union Cemetery, Rosseau Ontario. The McGovern Family would like to express their gratitude to the physicians and nurses at the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
