It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing at home of our dad, grandpa and great grandpa on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Floyd was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley Venne (Barton); parents Catherine and Allen Venne; sister Marilyn Venne; grandson Adam Renchko; and good friend Yvonne Mahoney.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Michelle (Gary) Veselic, Bruce (Wendy) Venne, Lenore (Dwayne) Ripplinger and Karen (Randy) Skitteral; grandchildren Renee (Ryan), Brent, Dawn (Brett), Jerod, Christopher (Laura), Danielle, Andrea (Derrick), Jonathan, Ryan (Alana) and Aric (Kayla); great grandchildren Kaihl, Sydney, Hayden, Teslynn, Leighton and Beckham; and sister Meryl Johnson.
Floyd was born on July 23, 1930 in Saskatoon to Allen and Catherine Venne. He settled in Regina where he met and married Shirley Barton.
He spent 35 years travelling Saskatchewan as a sales representative before retiring to Kannata Valley. Floyd and Shirley were snowbirds and loved to spend time in Las Vegas.
Summer months were spent with family and friends at his home at the lake where he enjoyed his grandchildren’s visits, boating, fishing, golfing and happy hours. Floyd was a good, kind-hearted and sociable individual.
Floyd took great pride when he fulfilled his childhood dream and obtained his private pilot license in 1969 and when he joined the Corps of Commissionaires in 2003 and worked at the Regina Airport.
We would like to extend a grateful thank you to the Palliative Home Care staff and especially to Patti, Janice and Meghan for comforting our father.
Respecting dad’s wishes there will be no funeral; a private graveside will be held.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Floyd may be made to a charity of your choice.
