Frederick Norman MacLaren
1951-2016
It is with great sadness the family of Frederick Norman MacLaren CD,
announce his passing on August 27, 2016, peacefully with his family by
his side. Born in St. Stephen on August 27, 1951, he was a son of the
late Frederick and Sarah (nee Beckerton) MacLaren.
Fred was a retired teacher after 25 years and was a community oriented
person. He was a past president of the Westmorland County Fair, a
member of the Local Service District, former member of the Village
Council, former president of the Kiwanis Club, he was the CO of the
Air Cadet Squadron and president of the Sponsoring Committee and also
the Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #41.
Fred will be lovingly missed by his wife Ronah (nee Peterson)
MacLaren; his children: Nicole O’Donnell (Dale) and their son
MacLaren Kent; Paige Boudreau (Brad) and their children Avery and
Chloe; Frederick MacLaren (Tammy Tingley) and their children Davis and
Preston; his chosen brother and lifelong friend Gregg Hunt (Bonita);
brothers-in-law: Roy Bannister and Robert Hall; as well as many
nieces, nephews and extended family.
Fred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides
his parents, Fred was predeceased by his siblings Ethel Bannister,
Helen Hall and Preston MacLaren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of
Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac,
(506)756-3361 from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30
from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. A legion tribute will be held at 5:45pm. A
funeral service celebrating Fred’s life will be held on
Wednesday, August 31 at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Sussex, NB
at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery. Donations in
Fred’s memory to 639 F.P. MacLaren Royal Canadian Air Cadet
