HAMMOND, Frances « Fran » Louisa (Life Member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Women’s Auxiliary Branch 72 and a Recipient of the Meritorious Award) – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances « Fran » Louisa Hammond (nee Borrett) who passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in her 93rd year. Fran Hammond of Pembroke, dearly loved wife of the late John « Jack » Hammond (January 5, 2016). Dear mother of Colin Hammond (wife Terry), Pembroke; Cindy Pender (husband Terry), Ottawa; and Janice McCann (husband Andrew), Pembroke. Granny to Lori Bouchard & Adam Pender (wife Loren); and Julie McCann-Townsend (husband Rob), John McCann (Joy) & Hayley McCann. She is much loved Great-Granny/Gigi to Charlie & George; Noah & Vaughn; Wesley & Kenzie; and Jack, Eddie & Jace. Daughter of the late James & Alvina Borrett (nee Loback). Sister of James Borrett (wife Grace), Brockville. Predeceased by sisters Margaret Gordon (late Norm) and Edith Borrett. Long time close friend to Betty Cushnie, Eileen Helferty, and Dr. Andy Melnick. Respecting Fran’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation and service for both Fran and Jack will take place in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 72 Poppy Fund or SPCA would be appreciated.
