John Theurer 1928 -2016

THEURER, John Albert “Jack” July 19, 1928- July 8, 2016 Peacefully, prayerfully holding his brides’ hand, John Albert “Jack” Theurer continued his journey to the Lord. John was married for 66 years to his bride Bernice Murphy “Murph”. Loving father to Susan, Mary Ellen (Jerry), Anne Marie (Gerry) and John (Barbara). Doting Grandpa and Papa to Christine (Dave), Scott (Stephanie), Emily, Alyssa, Brianna, Gillian and Cameron. Great Grandpa to several great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Jack was a devoted employee for many years at Canadian Bearings in many capacities. In retirement, Jack and Murph spent 25 years at Lake Couchiching and Englewood, Florida. Jack’s last 10 years were spent at St. Elizabeth Village, Hamilton. Jack was a humble altar server and Eucharistic Minister at all of their church communities. He lived a life filled with faith, great love for family and good humour. His quick wit and ability to make everyone feel special will be greatly missed. We wish to thank the following organizations for their compassionate care: CCAC, Capability, St. Elizabeth Health, Bayshore Health and especially Emmanuel House staff, Dr. Coull, Dr. Kerigan and their devoted staff. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Food for Children and Good Shepherd Centre would be greatly appreciated. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Village, 1 Yates Gate, Hamilton on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11a.m. Reception to follow. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. “Ear has not heard, eye has not seen, what God has promised to those who love him.”
