Dr. Peter Morgan

Dr. Peter Morgan January 14, 1935 – September 18, 2015

Peter Brian Morgan and his twin brother John were born on January 14,1935 to George & Sarah in Ponty Pridd, South Wales Peter was a man of many talents – he served in the British Army – “Army of Occupation” in Germany for 2 yrs, from there he went on to become a Sales Rep for a furniture company. His personality and God given abilities made him one of the best in his field and was often referred to as a pioneer. He would often build up an area and then pass it on, while he moved on to develop another area. Peter first met Vera 64 years ago at the age of 16. A number of years later they were married, and enjoyed 55 wonderful years together as life partners and best friends. Having listened to God’s calling in February 1972 they moved to Canada, and lived in Weston where he continued his career in Sales. From there they moved to Streetsville and purchased their first home in Canada Peter became very active in ministry within the local church and also served to raise funds for Kamp Kuriou to help children enjoy the summer camp experience. God was preparing him for greater ministry as he showed his faithfulness to God in smaller but very significant areas. In 1975 he became an Assistant Pastor at Christian Centre in Downsview where he served in ministry with Dr Alex Ness. During the 5 yrs that he served at Christian Centre he studied at Canada Christian college and received his BA & MA In 1980 they moved to Brampton and BCF was birthed. The first service was held at John Knox Christian School in June of that year. The property at 11613 Bramalea Rd was purchased in 80/81 and construction began. In June 1983 the church was opened and he faithfully loved and served the people there until he retired in 2006. One of Peter’s closest associates in ministry was Rev.Trevor Grey. Peter and Trevor worked tirelessly together to see what God was building at BCF. Peter served as Vice President & President of OBFF for a number of years. He was very instrumental in bringing the OBFF to Canada, where again he was able to be used by God to help build it up to where it is today. Pastor Morgan loved to preach God’s Word and had a heart for missions. He travelled to Jamaica, Brazil, Argentina, Trinidad, Venezuela, South America, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Wales, England, United States and throughout Canada, sharing Gods love. He loved his sports – in his prime he was an avid golfer and even got to experience a hole in one on May 30th., 2001 with his bonus son as a witness. Other sports such as cricket, football(soccer), rugby, tennis & racquetball were also very keen interests of his. When he could no longer play these sports, he maintained a high level of interest in watching them on TV. While he was passionate and competitive he was also, very much a gentleman when it came to his sports. While competing against other golfers he would encourage them to do their best. Make no mistake he wanted to win, but to beat you at your best. Left with fond memories are his Bride of 55 years – Vera Daughter Susan & husband Kenny Smith, Wales Granddaughter Zoe – following in her Grand dad’s footsteps, as one who loves to share God’s love with others – Wales Bonus children – Brian & Angela Manuel Brampton, ON Sisters: Joyce Morgan – Victoria, BC ; Malvene Davies – Ponty Pridd, Wales Neices Michelle Leyshon & Colin Kincardin, On Judith Legare, Florida Bonus Neice – Brianne Manuel Brampton, ON Nephew – Steve & Vivien Barnes, England A number of Great Neices and Nephews, as well as a great circle of family and friends In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BCF Church building fund.
