Dennis It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of KAREN DENNIS, beloved wife of Tim; step-mother to Adam, Erin and Nicki; daughter of Sandra and Denis; sister of Tracey and Lee. Karen was a special daughter-in-law to Verne and Ida and sister-in-law to Val (Shelly), Fayra (Rick), Kelly (Don), Cathy (Tony), Wally (Nicole) and very dear auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind, her constant, loyal companion, Lady. Karen passed away on August 6th after a lengthy, courageous and inspirational battle with cancer. She will be loved and missed by all. On July 22 1965, in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England, Denis and Sandra Hutchinson were blessed with the birth of their first child, a beautiful daughter whom they named Karen. Karen grew up in England and Africa, finally moving to Canada in 1976 where she immediately started making new friends, some to become lifelong. She attended Livingstone School in Lundbreck where one of her particular friends had a brother who caught her eye. This is another story… Karen attended her LPN training through Lethbridge College and after graduation began working at the Crowsnest Pass Hospital where for 25 years her hardworking and caring ways were felt by all she worked with and cared for. Karen met back up with Tim, the particular friend’s brother, in 1996 and for both it was love at first sight, she had found her soul mate, who was to become her husband and best friend. Karen and Tim worked, lived and traveled with much love for each other. The 16 years they were together were filled with love, compassion and caring. These last years were the reward for a life of hard work and caring and were to be better than the best. To pass at such an early age is a tragedy, yet one must look at the fullness of one’s life and how you have lived that life. Karen lived her life to the fullest… Her life was full of love, caring, compassion, passion and family. Anyone she has touched in her short life will always carry a little of Karen inside. Love, a simple smile, a tender touch. May every sunrise bring you more promise and every sunset bring you peace. Memorial donations may be made in Karen’s memory to the Good Samaritans Society Vista Village, P.O. Box 1510, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, August 19th, 2011 at the COWLEY COMMUNITY HALL, with Reverend Nicky Keyworth, Officiating.
