Obituary On March 13, 2016, Elsie passed away peacefully at the Citadel Care Centre, St. Albert. Elsie leaves to treasure her memory, Frank, her loving husband of 61 years; brothers: Allois (Rosella), Alfred (Anastasia), and sister, Gladys Friedrich; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents: Nicholas and Frances; sisters: Helen and Ester; and brother, Edward. Elsie was a very generous person with a genuine concern for the welfare of people and family. Regular donations of clothing and household articles through organizations formed part of her charitable works. While living abroad, Elsie was an active member of Expartriate organizations who performed works of charity for the local needy. At various stages of life’s journey, Elsie worked in the retail banking field at five different branches in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto. With Frank’s frequent absence on business travel, Elsie filled the role of domestic engineer and was well experienced in handling long distance moves as a result of nine transfers in Canada and abroad in the Caribbean. Elsie loved animals and birds. Among her hobbies, crafts and baking desserts were her favourites. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, Alberta with Reverend Ignacy Warias, OMI as Celebrant, with inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
