Obituary of Walter Blundon
BLUNDON, Walter Stephen, 86, passed away peacefully at home ‘The Healing Place’ on Saturday April 12, 2025. He has gone home to be with his Bride of 59 years, Diana, who passed in 2020.
Walter, ‘Wally-Guy’, was the son of Stephen and Mary of Nova Scotia. He was on his way to Australia when he became smitten with Diana who had recently immigrated from England. He told her ‘I don’t know about you, but I plan on getting married in the spring.’ The love affair never ended. Wally and Di raised their 6 children in Kitchener and later retired to Wiarton.
Walter was the brother of Stanley (pre) Vi, Fred, Alonzo (pre), David (pre), Bernice, John (pre) Edith, and Frank. Walter was the loving brother-in-law and friend to Carol, Hazel (pre) and close brotherly friend of their cousin, Donald Rawls. Walter was Dad to Timothy, Catherine, Lionel, Jonathon, Christopher and Sarah-Jean (Charles), Poppa to Heather, Chelsea, Scott, Ashley (Justin), Candice, Jordan and Justin, and Great-Grandfather to Isaac and Malia. He was a friend and email pen-pal to many, sharing his poetry, photography, words of wisdom and rants.
Private arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. A private celebration of the life of Walter and Diana will be held for close friends and family at a later date. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. George Harpur and nurse Tammy. Expressions of remembrance to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
