Sandra Beaubien Obituary
It is with great sadness that our family announces that Sandra Ellen Beaubien (nee Stevens), wife of the late Joe Beaubien, a cherished mother to Cindy (Don), Debbie (Dan), grandmother to Danielle (Josh), Denise (Andrew) and Emerson, great grandmother to Avery, Rilynn and two angels Maverick and baby girl, sister to Donna (Wayne), passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, with her loving daughters by her side.
Born October 21, 1942, in Toronto to Ellen (McKean) and James Stevens, Sandra’s arrival brought immense joy to her family. In his excitement, James accidentally recorded the wrong birthdate at the hospital, and while Sandra was born on October 20, her birthday was always celebrated on the 21st.
Sandra faced tragedy early in life when her father, James, was injured during the D-Day assault at Juno Beach and passed away on his birthday, August 18, 1944. Her mother, Ellen, later remarried Fred Broomhead, and Sandra welcomed her beloved sister, Donna, into the family.
Sandra spent her formative years in Toronto, Collingwood, and Brockville, where she eventually met Joe Beaubien, the love of her life. The two shared a beautiful marriage of 48 years, building a home filled with love and laughter until Joe’s passing in 2007.
Sandra and Joe’s journey together began in Brockville, where they welcomed their first daughter, Cindy. When Joe joined the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the family moved to Bancroft, where their second daughter, Debbie, was born. Sandra worked at McLaughlin Pharmacy in Bancroft, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. Later in life, Sandra and Joe moved to Kingston and enjoyed their retirement together, creating cherished memories in their golden years.
Sandra was a devoted mother who embraced motherhood with boundless love and unwavering dedication. She found immense joy in nurturing her children, guiding them with compassion, and celebrating their achievements. Her legacy as a mother is a testament to the profound bond she shared with her family, and her influence will live on through the lives she so lovingly shaped.
Sandra devoted herself to her family, instilling values of love, kindness, and resilience in her children. She was known for her radiant warmth, unwavering strength, and delightful sense of humor.
A gifted crafter, Sandra took great pride in creating intricate cards and handmade treasures. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, her greatest source of joy. Sandra also shared a special bond with her loyal little dog, Baby Beau, who was her constant companion for five years. Baby Beau now lives with Cindy, continuing to bring comfort and joy to the family.
A very special thank you to the wonderful, caring team at Arbor Heights Nursing Home.
Sandra’s memory will forever be a beacon of love, compassion, and joy. May we honor her legacy by treasuring our loved ones, embracing life’s simple pleasures, and always striving to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Sandra’s life will be celebrated on February 8, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston). All who knew and loved her are invited to join in honoring her remarkable life.
