Obituary of Robert « Whip » William Watson
Passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease on Monday, May 19, 2025, in his 86th year. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Susan (Ebel) of 66 years, his children Jeffrey (Angela), James (Juli), Cathy Wilkinson (Trevor) and Lisa Moore (Dave) and his grandchildren Kristopher Wilkinson (Joanna), Courtney Sukkel (Kyle), Brad Watson (Amanda), Nick Watson (Jackie), Alisha Katona (Tamas) and Kevin Watson (Kaitlin).
He is also survived by seven cherished great-grandchildren whom he adored deeply. His face would light up whenever they were near and found immense joy in their laughter and presence.
Bob is survived by his brothers David (Beani), Michael (Kathleen), Sister-In-Law Betty and sister Luanne Rohsler (Jules). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Marion, In-Laws Stuart and Feme Ebel, brother Douglas, Sister-In-Law Joanne Howlett and her husband Jim, Brother-In-Law Walter Rohsler, nephew Gary and cherished Daughter-In-Law Barb.
Bob was a lifelong sports enthusiast, with a special passion for hockey, baseball and golf. In his younger years, and known by his nickname of Whip, he played for the Waterloo Siskins, Waterloo Chymers and the Waterloo Chippers, proudly representing his hometown on the ice and on the ball field. In his retirement, his passion for golf continued as he served as a marshal at Grey Silo Golf Course, where he enjoyed both the game and the friendships it fostered.
The family wishes to thank AgeCare West Williams, 3rd floor staff, for the exceptional care, compassion and support they showed Bob.
As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
