Nora June (Dowdall) Baird
June 17, 1930 – February 4, 2025
Nora passed away in the Carleton Place Hospital on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her parents Garnet and Margaret (Stewart) Dowdall and her husband Barkley (Buck) Baird 1973, her sisters, Helena Baird, Doreen White, Mary Clapp and her brother Cecil Dowdall. Survived and sadly missed by her brother Bob Dowdall (Eleanor).
Nora was a loved mother of Sheila (Reg) Hannah, Cathy (Doug) Percy, Nancy (Greg) Affleck, Beth (Brent Topping) and Ian (Janet) Baird.
She was the loved and respected grandmother of Stephen, Dan, Tim Hannah (Brian Kneebone), Trevor (Michelle) and Troy (Teri) Affleck, Mark and Nora Percy, Trisha (Pat) Raney and Jamie Topping (Wendy Horne), Amanda (Jason) Bellamy, Ryan (Melisa) Baird, Bridgette (Josh) Voutt, Travis Rochon (Cherekee Rogers) and her 22 great-grandchildren. Nora will be missed by her nieces and nephews, and her friends and nursing staff at the Stoneridge Manor in Carleton Place.
Nora was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Branch 244 Royal Canadian Legion in Perth and was the oldest living member with 60 years of service.
Friends may support the family at Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario, on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Hopetown Cemetery.
