Joan Carlene Munroe, 85, of Canning, passed
away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in Shannex –
Blomidon Court, Greenwich.
Born in Canning, she was a daughter of the late
Carl and Bertha (Huntley) Blois.
Joan worked for 23 years at the Graves Juice
plant, where she formed lasting connections. She loved playing cards
and going to Bingo. She also had a love for nature, having enjoyed
picking strawberries in childhood and blueberries until
recently.
She is survived by her son, Malcolm, Canning;
daughter-in-law, Geneva, West Black Rock; grandchildren, Alicia
(Christopher) Munroe-Prime, Melissa (Nathan) Nickerson, Amanda
Francis, Ethan Morine and Terri Carty; and great-grandchildren, Kyle
Munroe, Chauncy Munroe, Zoe Francis-Clare, Emma Atwell, Lydia
Turnbull, Catalaya Munroe-Prime, Laura Nickerson, Natalie Nickerson
and Eric Nickerson. Joan was a beloved parent, grandparent, and
great-grandparent, and will be dearly missed by all who knew
her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband, Laurie; sons, David and Brian; sisters, Mary Alders
and Marjorie Blois; brothers, Clayton, Keith, Maurice and Leeland. She
was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside
service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to MS
Canada. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online
