Jeffrey « Jeff » Gordon LeGrand Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” LeGrand on May 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and the sharing of stories. Jeff was born to Winston and Jean (nee Terwillegar) on February 10, 1978. He was valedictorian graduating from elementary school, and ultimately graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He built a dedicated career as a financial analyst for Xerox Canada, where he was a loyal team member, leader and caring colleague. Blessed with a gregarious and outgoing personality, Jeff spent his life surrounded by friends and loved ones, always making sure that everyone was looked after in a room. He was cherished by close friends and acquaintances alike, thanks to his generous spirit and deep compassion.
Jeff inherited a love for lawn bowls from his grandfather Bert and uncle Gord. It was a sport at which he excelled, winning the General Motors Gold Cup among other accomplishments. Jeff loved spending endless hours at hockey arenas throughout his life, first as an excellent church league hockey player competing at the rep and select level in the LNHL , then as head coach for his son Christopher’s hockey teams. More recently, watching Christopher play turned into watching Christopher work as a certified OMHA hockey referee. Dad was so proud! Jeff was dedicated to his family, his mom and dad and brothers, but he was singularly focused on raising his son to embody values like unconditional love and generosity (values which Christopher acquired to overflowing!). Jeff also loved his road trips with his two long-time and treasured best friends going back to his school days, Cameron and Rich, gathering special memories like watching the Bengals in Cincinnati and the Masters in Augusta, among many others. Jeff had a huge heart, he fought the good fight in this last health battle, and now we all feel the empty spot in our hearts where he left his profound and lasting mark.
Jeff’s legacy of love will be carried on by his son Christopher (with mother Katie), as well as Jeff’s mother and father, Jean and Winston, brothers David (Tracey) and Kevin and Jeff’s niece Sophia and nephew Benjamin. Completing the family circle are aunts, uncles and cousins who always enjoyed Jeff sharing his views about the Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and any other hot topic of the day. He is predeceased by his and Katie’s cherished feline family members Justin, Keri, Shasta and Liam, and by his childhood soul mate, cat Toby.
We will be celebrating the life of Jeff at his family church, Centennial Albert United Church, 19 Rosehill Blvd, in Oshawa on Saturday May 17, with visitation at 10am and service at 11am. All are welcome to join the family for a lunch reception immediately following. An interment at a later date is yet to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Liver Canada, Ronald McDonald House and/or the Toronto Cat Rescue would be welcomed.
