Grace
Elizabeth Boone
May 20,
1933 – February 26, 2025 (91)
It is with heavy hearts
that the family of Grace Elizabeth Boone of Oromocto (formerly of
Geary) announce her passing at the Fredericton hospital on February
26, 2025.
She was born on May 20,
1933 to Arid Camp Brown and Annie May Brown (Carr), at her mother’s
family home on ‘The Mountain’ in Lauvina, Sunbury County, now part of
CFB Gagetown.
Grace was a devoted and
faithful wife and a phenomenal mother. She married Donald Frederic
Boone on June 21, 1952 and together they enjoyed 72+ years of love and
adventure. She was the proud mother of Cedric Donald Boone (Maureen),
Catherine Elizabeth Robichaud (Michael), Kimberly Dawn Boone, and
foster mother to Lucie Anne Boone. Grandmother to Melonie Drew
(Patrick), Chelsie Wilson (Justin), Christopher Boone (Kristine
McGrath), Alexander Boone (Taurey Bulmer) and Julie Robichaud (Luke
Richard). Great grandmother to Nahla, Korrah, Theo and Salem. She is
survived by Sister-in-law Myrtle Vivian Brown (Lester) and several
precious cousins, nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend and cousin
Shirley Goodwin held a special place in her heart.
Grace was predeceased by
her parents and brother Lester James Brown.
Her green thumb could
grow just about anything and she once had a lemon tree growing in the
house. She loved their gardens and enjoyed tending the vegetable,
flower and fruit gardens with Don. She especially loved flowers and
often kept a vase of fresh cut flowers on her table. Anyone who would
follow her, would get a personal tour of their gardens and she loved
to share the fruit of their labour.
Grace taught Sunday
School for many years and loved every pupil. Mom was a mother and
grandmother to anyone who needed one.
Grace worked at various
jobs, but after her children were launched, joined Don at Hartt Shoes
where they worked until their joint retirement in July 1991. Before
and after retirement they travelled as much as possible throughout
Canada, Europe, the New England States and the Atlantic Provinces.
Together they attempted to drive every back road in New
Brunswick.
Grace’s faith and trust
was/is in her LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. She is no longer enduring
the pain and trials of this short life but has entered into the
presence of our creator God for ever.
« Well done, good and
faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will
make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your
Lord. » Matthew 25:23
The
family thanks the staff of 4 West DECH, (Euzanne, Samantha, Martha,
Rasel, Gwen and Dr Hadley) and the extraordinary and compassionate
Extra Mural staff.
A funeral service will
be held on Sunday March 2, 2025 at 2pm at Sovereign Grace Baptist
Church, 54 Broad Road, Haneytown, with a reception to
follow.
Internment will be at a
later date. If desired and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church or The Geary, French Lake,
Waterville Memorial Cemetery Committee.
« If we live, we live to the
Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we
belong to the Lord. » John 11:25-26
