Passed away peacefully with her husband and sons by her side on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at University Hospital, London, in her 87th year of life.
Kathy was born in Athens, Greece, on March 15, 1938. In 1963, Kathy immigrated to Canada, where she met and married the love of her life, George Tanglis in 1965. She was blessed with two sons, Gus and Chris and daughters-in-law, Krista and Doris. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Kosta and Zoe, whom she continuously reminded “S’agapo poli poli”.
She was the eldest of five children and is survived by her siblings Stavroula (George) Giannarapis, Panagiotis (Tasia) Dimitropoulos, Eleftheria (Sotiris) Melidis, and Theodora (Panagiotis) Kostopoulos. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and god-children.
A true fashionista, her impeccable sense of style led her to a successful career as a master wedding dress designer and seamstress. However, her true passion was in the kitchen, where she found joy cooking delicious meals from scratch for family and friends.
Kathy lived her life with unwavering strength and courage, always inspiring those around her to do the same.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral service will be conducted at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road West, London, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery, London.
