With heavy hearts we announce that on Thursday, January 23, 2025, Dona May Hammerlein at the age of 82, left us to be reunited with her beloved husband Kurt Hammerlein (2004). She will be missed dearly by her children Brenda (Mauro) Voivoda, Brian Kelly, April (Howie) Snary, Kurtina (Steve) Buchan, Karen (John) Baxter and the late Pamela (Ron, surviving) DeBoer. Cherished grandma of Lucas DeBoer, Kandyce DeBoer, Rick (Teri-Lynn) Voivoda, Rob (Mochi) Voivoda, Kyle Kelly, Krista Kelly, Jesse (Rachel) Snary, Joey Snary, Jayme (Bill) Bloom, Jessy (Paige) Druer, Izzy Buchan, Rylee Buchan, Brad (Amanda) Hammerlein, Brandon Hammerlein, Jeannine Baxter, her13 great grandchildren and her special great great granddaughter. Dona was born in Chatham to the late Pearl and Arthur Willson and was a dear sister to Bernice (the late Larry) Haskell, Terry (Colleen) Willson, the late Dorothy (Tom) Blankenship and the late Bill (Diane, surviving) Willson. Dona was a proud breast cancer survivor for over 30 years and spent much time fundraising for cancer research with the Green Glow Girls. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231), on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2-5pm. Her funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11am with burial at Riverview Cemetery to follow.
