David Aaron Stephens (aka “old man” aka “Louie” and many other terms of endearment) in his 82nd year passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health Center on June 5, 2025 with his family by his side.
Loving husband of Lyn (Somerville) Stephens. Father of Danny Stephens, Laura Stephens, Joanne Brough, all of Owen Sound and Melissa (Kevin) Minogue of Chatham. David was also the devoted Grandfather of Aaron (Jessica), Katrina (Phil), Kiara, Zachary, Cole, Quintin, Olivia and Great Grandfather to Brayson, Declan, Brinlee, Demari and Zekiah. Also survived by brother Gordon. Predeceased by his parents John and Alice (Wilson) Stephens, his brothers George, Jim, Jack, Ron, Russell and Robbie and sisters Margaret and Alice. David will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbours.
David was an avid fisherman back in his day spending his spare moments creating memories with generations of nephews and grandchildren. He was also an avid card player whether it be Euchre with family in years gone by, playing crib with our special family friend Angie, or pepper with his friends in his building.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, kindness, and generosity to anyone and everyone whose lives he touched or shared a laugh with.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Brightshores Health Center for their care and compassion not only for David, but our family as well.
As per David’s wishes, cremation will take place followed by a private ceremony with immediate family members.
Grandma is waiting with her tea kettle on; your brothers have pulled up another chair to the Euchre table.
