On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Charles Frederick Cole at the age of 96 passed into the arms of his dear Lord and Saviour after a long life, well lived.
Charlie was owner operator of Cole Business Machines and was the last of the Charter Members of Huron Park Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years Rita (nee Zilke). He was also predeceased by his baby sister Edith and his sister Thelma (Hohner) and her husband Lloyd. He is survived by daughters Judy Palmer (George), Dianne Klingenberg (John), Barbara Hood (Clarence) and son Philip Cole (Carol). Also mourning his passing are his 10 grandchildren (Geoff, James, Melissa, Paul, Kate, Robert, Andrea, Chantelle, Alison and Emily) and 20 great grandchildren (Aydin, Kiara, Aubrey, Janika, Abijah, Adalia, Micah, Reece, Brian, Bailey, Nolan, Ben, Colleen, Vinson, Genevieve, Heideliese, Isaac, Noah, Billie, and Mila) Charlie is also mourned by his loved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was born Oct 6, 1928 in Brownlee, Saskatchewan to parents John (Jack) Cole and Mollie (nee Gulliford). In his early years the family homesteaded in rural Saskatchewan. He started high school in Tugaske, Saskatchewan, then made a big move with his family to Oxford Centre, Ontario and finished high school at Woodstock Collegiate Institute.
Charlie and Rita married and raised their 4 children at Bond’s Corners where they lived in the house Charlie built until he retired and moved the few miles into Woodstock. His dedicated and passionate hard work in both his business and church life pass on a wonderful legacy for his family, friends and associates. Once retired Charlie enjoyed his carpentry hobby. Many of his loved one’s treasure beautiful pieces of furniture he crafted.
Charlie will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts.
We invite you to come celebrate his life Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at The Rock Bible Church, 1140 Nellis St., Woodstock, Ontario. The family invites you to fellowship with them at the church following the service.
