LAFEBER, Catherine “Katie” (nee Bering)
October 18, 1932 – February 1, 2025
In her 92nd year, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Erie Shores HealthCare. Reunited with her husband Andy Lafeber (July 4, 2002). Loving mother of the late Patrick (2013) and Wendy, Kathy Gulko and Charles (late Greg, 2012), Richard Lafeber and Stephanie, and Douglas Lafeber and late wife Julie (2021). Grandmother of 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild on the way. Daughter of the late Anton and late Anne (nee Kittl) Bering. Sister of the late Paul (late Betty) Bering, late Rose (late Carl) Stevenson, and Sister Caroline Bering. Sister-in-law of the late Kay (late J.D.) Moore. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A special thank you to the staff at the Leamington Mennonite Home for their care and compassion shown to our mom Katie. Visitation at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell St., Leamington (519-326-2631) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Michaels Church, 29 Elliott St, Leamington on Thursday February 6, 2025, for time of Mass at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Erie Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations directed to the Leamington Mennonite Home or St. Michaels Church Building Fund are appreciated by the family.
