With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anne Marie (Sanford) Hopper, of Falmouth, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, who left this world on Friday, February 14, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born September 15, 1954, in Windsor, Anne was a force of nature—fiercely loving, quick-witted, and wonderfully stubborn. She had a sharp mind, an even sharper tongue, and a heart that knew no bounds. Her humor could brighten any room, her generosity knew no limits, and her cooking was nothing short of extraordinary. To be fed by Anne was to be truly cared for, as she poured love into every dish and took great joy in bringing people together around the table.
Alongside her husband, Bob, Anne was the proud co-owner of Hopper Jewellers, where they built not just a business, but a legacy of craftsmanship and community. She also had a deep love for the arts and was a founding member of the Annapolis Valley Decorative Artists, where she formed lasting friendships and shared her passion for creativity. Anne also found great joy in being part of the Falmouth Farmers Market, where Cory, Gina, and all the employees held a special place in her heart.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Robert Hopper; her beloved children, Zane Hopper (Sam) and John; her siblings on the Sanford and Snooks side; her adoptive mother, Geneva; her cherished stepchildren; and her many adored grandchildren. She also leaves behind a circle of dear friends and countless others whose lives she touched.
The steady stream of visitors in her final months was a testament to the life she lived and the love she gave so freely. Her presence was unforgettable, and her impact will live on in the stories, laughter, and meals shared in her honor.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the community and friends for their unwavering support. A special thank you to her lifelong friend Cathy, her longtime friends Nancy and Karen, and her dear granddaughter Bryanna, who were by her side until the very end. A further thank you to Amber and the palliative care team at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, Nova Scotia, for their kindness and advocacy in her final months.
Anne’s legacy will live on in the laughter she sparked, the love she gave, and the lives she enriched.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor NS (902-798-8317). As per Anne’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or Celebration of Life at this time. She and Bob wished to have a shared service, a testament to their deep and eternal love. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Palliative Care, Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
