Obituary of Zachary Cooper Leuthel
Zachary Cooper Leuthel passed away in Chatham, Ontario on September 21, 2024.
Zach was the beloved only child of Sandra Cooper and Jeffrey Leuthel, born on May 29, 1992.
Zach worked for the family business, Crown Carpentry & Construction Management and was a proficient General Contractor. Zachary had many interests and hobbies including: animal rescue, physical fitness and nutrition, watching sports (hockey and football), and playing video games online with his friends.
He loved his family of fur-babies; Harley and Springer (Coton de Tulear dogs), and Mr. Money (rescuecat). Zach passionately collected Air Jordan Kicks (shoes). Zach had a discerning palette and was a frequent patron of the local shawarma and pizza restaurants.
Zach is predeceased by Hermann Leuthel (paternal grandfather) and maternal grandparents, William
Charles (Chuck) Cooper and Ruth (nee Fenton) Cooper.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Sandra Cooper and Jeffrey Leuthel, and his grandmother, Jeanine Leuthel. Zachary is also survived by many aunts and uncles; Charlene (nee Cooper) and Bob Cowlan, Jay Cooper, Debbie Cooper, Ron Leuthel, Brian and Gillian Leuthel. Zach will be remembered with deep affection by his first cousins: Vanessa (V) and Phillip, Kristian, Madi, Ethan, Ryan and Megan, Jordan, and Cole; and his second cousins: Sienna, Amara, and Ella.
Zachary loved his family and was there to help whenever asked. Zach will be missed by his circle of friends, his “Bros”, those who became like family to him.
Visitation for Zach will take place on Thursday September 26, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm and in the evening from 6pm to 8pm at the McKinlay Funeral Chapel at 459 St.Clair Street in Chatham. A funeral service for Zach will take place on Friday September 27, 2024 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue or to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
In Zach’s words from May 29, 2022: “ If I could have anything for my birthday, it would be for each and everyone who reads this to hug someone they love. Show that appreciation for that person, because you never know what tomorrow brings…”
