WINNIFRED RUTH GILL
November 10, 1938 – March 8, 2024
Winnifred Ruth Gill (Adams) passed away after a lengthy illness at Glenbrook Lodge Nursing Home, St. John’s, at the age of 85.
Predeceased by loving husband Owen; parents Millie and Meric Adams; parents-in- law Minnie and Norman Gill; brother Donald; brothers-in-law Scott Young, Harry Gill, Fred Gill, Earl Gill, Walter Clarke, sisters-in -law Ruth M. Gill and Gladys Clarke.
Leaving to mourn her passing, loving daughter Diane (Barry) Butler and son Darrin (Connie) Gill; sisters Marilyn (Owen) Peyton, Gloria Young; sisters-in-law Delphina, Helen Gill, Bonnie Stewart ( Bruce Baker); grandchildren Meghan Rose (J.R. McQuaid), Kirk (Tanusri) Rose, Amy Butler, Brooklyn Gill, Braeden Gill; great grandchild Maeve McQuaid; nieces and nephews Karen Adams, Gregory Adams, Michele (Ken) Newhook , Mia (Buddy) Peyton, Paul (Billi) and Zenia Young, Rhonda (Craig) and Dawn Mills, Bruce (Yvonne) Gill, Richard (Jennifer) Gill, Carolyn (Brian), Erin and Emma Ball, Bryan (Holly) and Brody Gill, Tara (Stephen), Cole and Carter Champion; friend Albert Peckford, as well as a large circle of extended family.
Diane and Darrin wish to thank Dr. J. Woolfrey, Dr A. Goodridge and Dr. S. Major for the care and attention given to Ruth while she was a patient of theirs. They would also like to thank the staff of 1C at Glenbrook Lodge for the exemplary care given to their mom during her stay and thank you also to the staff of Winslowe Ridge for the kindness shown to her while she lived there. A special thank you to Ruth, Bernadette, Linda and Sandra who provided excellent care to Ruth while she was living in her own home.
As per Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to JDRF- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Parkinson’s Society, NL.
