William’s Obituary
MURPHY, William – It is with the greatest of sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we, the family of William Murphy, announce his passing on February 11, 2023, at 82 years of age, in the presence of his loving and grateful family.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 55 years, Judy Murphy (nee Walsh), his children: Naomi (Rick Young), Marty (Lisa), Ian (Katie) and Penny (Rick Blanchard), his grandchildren: Allan and Joshua Young, Kassidy and Shaylan Murphy, Libby, Sarah, and Daniel Murphy, and Gwenyth and Lucas Blanchard. Pre-deceased by his parents Anne and Tim Murphy, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Walter Walsh, brothers Martin (Jean) and Michael (Dorothy) and brothers-in-law Pad, Bill, and Ed Walsh and sister-in-law, Rose Murphy. Leaving to mourn his brothers Tim (Lorraine) and John and sisters Mary Teixeira (Julian), Marg Corbett (Val) and Betty Anne McCarthy (Eddie), sister-in-law Lorraine (Tim), brothers-in-law Len (Rose), Jim (Karen), Jerome (Muriel), Bern (Shirley) and Frank (Mary), along with special friends Gay Phillips and Doug McDonald, Stephanie, Chris and Owen Hawco, Melvin and Mary Walsh, Blair Phillips, a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and a large number of students over a full teaching career.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to all our family and friends for all your love and support. A special thank you to Dr. Russell Lake, and Vale of Avoca staff for being there for Will and his family.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Will’s memory may be made to your local food bank.
Cremation has been entrusted to Flaherty’s Memorial Funeral Home in Conception Harbour.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
