It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our very special Mom, Wilhelmine Lucille Knox. Depending on how she touched your hearts, she was known as Willie or Skip. She was predeceased by her parents Alice (Crow) and Harvey Knox and her special parents Ellen and William Leach. She outlived all her extended family and their survivors Clayt Leach (Hazel), Lenore Hammend (Harry), Ivan Leach (Jessie), Fred Leach (Ruth), Percy Leach (Joy), Robena Iles (Lavern). She leaves behind her very special family Sandy Couture (the late Clay) and their children Jeannie and Aaron (Paula), Rick Iles (Robin) and their children Neal (Jamie) and Chrissy and Kim Iles (Greg) and their children Nicole (Adam) and Jordon. She leaves behind 9 great grand kids. She also touched the hearts of many in her work and community. She retired from many years of service at Ontario Hydro. She volunteered in many community activities that are too many to count. She helped and was very involved with Meals on Wheels and five pin bowling in the community for many years. She was one of the oldest of her friends, but she made sure her fellow pensioners and widows were able to attend their events by giving them rides. The family would like to thank all the staff at Maple City Residence for their excellent care over the last 2 years. She found a special place in their hearts, and they loved her till the end. Special thanks to Bayshore, VON and her fellow residents who loved her too. The ladies were so very helpful in keeping her in her final home until the end. Thanks so much.
Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West Chatham, 519-352–2710 on Wednesday September 6th, 2023 with visiting from 10 am to 12 pm. The funeral service for Wilhelmine will take place at 12pm, with interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider PAWS or the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of their choice.
