RACKI, Wilhelm (‘Will’) Joseph (June 3, 1950 – December 30, 2022)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Cedarwood Village, Simcoe, on Friday, December 30th, 2022, Wilhelm (‘Will’) Joseph Racki, a long-time Courtland resident, at the age of 72. Born in Munich Germany to the late Josef and Helen Racki. Will was the former proprietor of Peoples Meat Market, Courtland. After over 50 years of involvement in his family business, the store was sold, and Will retired in 2011. Will was a former volunteer Firefighter with Norfolk County Fire Station 6, Courtland, for 25 years, retiring in 1998. In his spare time, Will enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his younger years was a hobby farmer. Lovingly remembered by wife of 42 years, Doris (Hofmann) Racki, and by his much-loved son Byron Racki, of Courtland. Predeceased by his son Kurt Racki. Loving brother of two sisters and their families: Margaret (John) D’Aloisio, niece Jobina D’Aloisio (Todd Summers) – their children Hayden, Kinley, Kieran; nephew Lynden D’Aloisio – his children Laine, Sloane; Michelle Fisher, niece Chantelle; niece Emily (Keveh Nichols) – their daughter Blake. Also survived by his father-in-law Erwin Hofmann (late Mary), sister-in-law Janet Hofmann; sister-in-law Mary Beech (late Dave), nephew Jeff (Kelly) Beech- their children Ava, Audrey; nephew Kevin Beech; niece Lisa (Matt) Savard- their children Jacob, Liam; late nephew Thomas Beech.
In keeping with Will’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Public Celebration of Will’s Life will be announced in the Spring of 2023. Everyone who knew Will is welcomed to share favourite photos, letters of condolence, or contribute memorial donations to “Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario” or to the “Alzheimer Society Haldimand Norfolk” or (by cheque) to “Cedarwood Village – Residents Fund” or to any charity of your choice, via Will’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
